Are you an individual with vast work experience in a numerate discipline who can take data, analyse it and then present actionable insights? If so, giffgaff is searching for a Lead Data Scientist to join their Business Intelligence Team.
We are looking for an individual with a strong analytical mind who has experience in big data, predictive analytics and artificial intelligence. As well as having vast big data experience, we are looking for someone who has strong communication skills who is proficient at simplifying complex analytics to feed back to key stakeholders and ensure their work and recommendations drives the business forward. You need to be passionate about analytics, an energetic self-starter, as well as being excited about the opportunity to be a part of our vibrant giffgaff business.
As the Lead Data Scientist, you will complete advanced analytical analysis using a variety of modelling techniques.  You will work to ensure we are utilising all our data to maximise business impact, and help the business achieve substantial growth. You will be up-to-date with new innovation within this area and ensure giffgaff have the best capability to deliver best in class artificial intelligence today and in the future.
The role involves closely working with all directorates of giffgaff as well as numerous third parties, providing analytics that will allow giffgaff to optimise across their full suite of products. You will need to be able to code in SQL & R and it is essential you have experience of using AWS and languages and systems such as hive, python, pig, spark, etc… It is also essential you have a good understanding of a variety of advanced predictive modelling techniques.

You will run very high profile meetings with the CEO and his Directors in attendance. You will need to ensure that the information is communicated clearly, and actions are driven from it.

Essential requirements:
Degree in a numerate discipline at 2:1 or above

Extensive work experience in a big data analytics, predictive analytics or artificial intelligence,

A highly rounded individual.

Experience of using MSSQL and AWS systems

Excellent knowledge of programming in SQL, R & Python

Experience of big data technologies such as spark
